Taking Headlights Apart?

Can you take a headlight apart like you can a taillight? I bought a set of lights from 50Resto a few years ago and one of the reflectors was crap in it and it looks a lot different from the other side. I emailed them about it but got no email back. Anyways after seeing Mustang5L5's post about taking his tails apart and spraying the reflectors with chrome paint this gave me the idea of doing the same for my headlights so they would look the same again. Will a heat gun allow me to get the lens off the headlights or am I boned until I buy a set of the diamond(clear..whatever they are called these days)? Not the best pic to show the difference, but you can see how one headlight is darker than the other.

Well yeah, that wouldnt be all that bad besides the part that those are new ones. I'll buy those nice ones when the car gets painted HOPEFULLY in 07 sometime.
