I was going to sell the stang! I even posted it on craigslist . Of all people it was my wife who talked me out of it . Someone called and asked about the car earlier in the day and I was kind of rude to them. I guess I wasn't ready to part w/ her .

Yea, I would keep it unless it was for the best in your situation, these cars are really easy to get rid of, considering how much aftermarket support there is, its almost a culture!

No offense, but I wish more people would actually commit to selling things before posting them for sale. I got burned by someone like you. I drove all the way to the guy's place w/ cash in hand, did the test drive and presented his asking price in cash and he got cold feet. That's really frustrating to the prospective buyer!!

I almost sold mine about a year ago when gas was at an all time high. I was asking a lot for it and a guy called me about it. But when he found out that it only runs on premium gas his wife nagged him to not buy it. So he backed out. I'm glad he did. It's not for sale anymore.

Congrats mate!! I almost traded my Benz for a more sensible winter car the other day. I was fine at first but got steadily more freaked out (I love that car). It gradually became pretty clear I couldn't do it.... My wife was supportive too.... She could see I was messed up!

Borrowed an old Jeep for the winter instead.

The diff. is I didn't string him along. We never arranged a test drive, plus he didn't have enough cash anyway. Either way it is now off craigslist and happily in the garage. It only took the thought of parting w/ it to change my mind. I have to say my drive to work would not be a enjoyable in something else.

Why did the thought cross your mind in the first place?

I have to admit, I did the same thing about 6 months ago. I got it in my head that I needed a truck so just to see if it would sell, I posted on Craigslist. I had a guy call me from 2 states away and after a 20 minute conversation he said he'd be here the next day with a trailer to pick it up. I told the wife and my two daughters (10 and 5) and everyone freaked out! My 10 year old cried and begged me to call him back and tell him he couldn't have it. My wife calmly explained to me that I would really regret it. So I made the call and apologized all over myself. But if he had driven here, there's no way I could have told him no. Women's intuition is a vast and wondourous thing sometimes!

I almost sold mine to keep my 93 FD RX7.

But in the end I just couldn't f'n do it. That twin turbo was expensive to maintain anyway. I was happy as hell when any bill for the FD was under $1000. Fastest car I ever owned though
