Went to Ford dealer last weekend to sit in the new '05. I'm 6'4", and the '04s were just too small. I was really, really pleased to find that I have a good 1/2-to1-inch of space of extra room above my head. Waiting for the vert, and hope it doesn't take up too much of that extra atmosphere.

Also, had the guy start it up just so I could hear it. My dad had a '69 GT vert when I was a kid, and the sound was like hearing an old Beatles tune or something...just brought me back.

That's really good to hear. I am pleased that there is more room in the 2005 Mustang GT.

I am only 6'2" but I like hearing people say there is more room.

I have long legs and pretty long arms and really would rather feel I had the room to "feel right" in the cars.

I have not only never owned a Mustang but I have never even been in a Mustang - let alone driven one.

I was a Mopar guy as a youngster - then Porsches and Vettes.

I for the most part always liked the Mustangs but just never "went there".

I am 6' 3-4". I sat in one. I did not really notice the head room. I guess I will have to sit in one again. I thought there would be more leg room to be honest with you. I thought it was about the same as it is now. I hit my knees on the steering colum with the seats all the way back. And with the seats all the way back, there is less than 1 inch room between the seat of the back and the back of the front seat. It was like sitting in a Prelude. I was not really impressed with the leg room. I will have to check it out again for the head room because a vert would be nice, they were always too short for me...

I sat in one.. I'm 6'4'' and there is much more room in them then the 03-04s. My father is going to buy a Vert when they come out, so we went to a dealer that had a GT right when they came out so he could sit in one... Let me tell ya.. He's 6'6'' and his knees were RIGHT at the dash. Sorta upset me cause I want him to get one! lol. He is iffy now. I believe they made seat rail extenders for the Fox's so let's hope they do for the 05+s.

I'm just a 6'2" runt. I've got plenty of headroom in my '01 GT. Leg room is a little tight in the '01, but I haven't changed the seat rails because I'll be too far from the steering wheel.

I've sat in an '05 and it feels like there is as least 1" more leg room. To me, just enough leg room in the '05 to fee comfortable with the seat all the way back. The '05 also had more headroom, probably and inch more than my '01, but my '01 has all the headroom I need.

How do rail extenders work? Do they replace the existing seat rails, or bolt on? I didn't know they made these, but if I could get an inch more in the 05, it would be much more comfortable!

I'm 6'2 almost 6'3 and the 05 did feel like it had more headroom then my 04. The backseat unless the frontseats are moved all the way forward is useless for anybody other than a five year old. There is WAY less room back there now. BTW, my dealer finally got one in stock and I went and checked it out. It was a silver with the Shaker 1000 and had the automatic.

I believe the replace the stock seat rails for more track length. I know my friend has a 97 Cobra and he's 6'7'' and had to get them. I think they are just longer then stock. It would be nice if they made them.
