I like the way the trunk floor is shaping up. How much higher do you think it is compared to a stock floor?
What’s left for the turbo kit, thought you where pretty close to done making it all fit

From inside the trunk, it’s just flush with the factory floor. On the underside there was a lot of room to be gained cutting out the spare tire well and the area where the factory gas tank straps attach.

The turbo kit needs the coldside from the turbos to the intercooler built and the hotside still needs the wastegate flanges and dump tubes built. So it’s 50% finished at best.
Starting to look like I shouldn’t have cut the ends off my intercooler lol

More trunk progress.
Continued to fit the floor sheet metal. Realized it was a pain in the ass to try and tighten the bolt and hold the nut without a second person so I welded the nuts into the floor and solved that.
Floor fit up pretty well with a little work. Going to weld a little more and then try to find some seam sealer to finish it off before it gets painted body color.
Finished up the small bars under the floor. Ran one right against the floor across the width of the floor so I could weld the sheet metal to it and prevent potential noise from the floor buckling.
I might have ended up with bars in places I don’t need them or maybe more than I needed but I’m far from an engineer so this is what I ended up with

Mounted the compressor and trans cooler back in place.

Compressor is located where I can switch out the pushlock line and use it to air up tires without having to jack the car up.

Fuel cell and battery box both bolt directly to the floor and are easily removed.

I think I’m satisfied with it

That trunk looks really good. Welding the nuts to the trunk floor definitely seems like the best option. Turned out great !!!!!

That trunk is nice. I like the compressor deal as well.
Is your trunk lid still hinged?

Still factory trunk. Won’t see anything fancy there. Exterior of the car will be 100% factory appearing. Stock hood, stock spoiler, etc. love the 03-04 body lines, not something I’m willing to sacrifice for any reason

Going to take a little different than normal approach to a battery kill switch. Was hoping to get it installed today but had to work on the wife’s garage door most of the day.

Been more focused on the garage than the car(s) in it.
For as much space as I have, I was stepping(read tripping) over stuff constantly and currently don’t have room to pull the family vehicles in for maintenance. Buddy is going to come out and help me knock the bathroom walls down. It doesn’t get used anyways so that’s 36ish sqft id like to reclaim.

That said, custom axles will be here tomorrow so we’ll see how my tape measurer skills turned out.

Got my axles today

They fit in the housing, which is a relief.

Had to drill out the rotors for the 5/8 studs, which went smoothly as well.

My obscure brake brackets also look like theyre going to work out, just need to grind on the caliper stands a hair and get some new hardware for them and the bearing retainers this weekend.

Our guess at stud length worked out great as well.

Unfortunately, I can’t set the car on the ground until I finish the transmission mount and actually manage to get the tires fully mounted on these rear wheels.
In the meantime, i can tell the rear end isn’t centered in the car. And I think the wheels are going to end up being set in a little more than I had envisioned. Withholding judgement until I can actually square the suspension and sit the car on the ground
