Ok everyones like no no dont do it. i just wanna what the cost would be approximitly. and what kind of support would you need to stablized the roof. I'm no expert but cant a roll cage be used to support the roof and frame? i mean one bar from right behind the seats at the back of the cut to the other side thats sound like it would work..... :nice: :notnice:
give me ur thoughts and as always :flag:

:canada: too becasue im 20 and i can drink there ohhhh yeahhhhhh:nice:

Was a company doing this for 94-98's at one time, not sure what ever happened to them. Looked pretty cool, my only issue was the part you remove is so big you better not leave the car out of site or get caught in the weather.

(They made it 1 piece so it wouldn't fit in your truck I think.)
:notnice:

From a looks stand point I think it might look horrible. Im not sure the SN95 shape lends itself to that type of look. Ill reserve judgment until I see one. As for bracing full length subs, A pillars, roof, and b pillars would need be braced to prevent sag, and add strength in the event of a crash. Id still go with at least a 6 pt bar for added safety if the car ever rolled over. Id say 8 pt but would take away from the look of the targa roof when its removed. And we all the "look" is what this thought is all about.

Some good subframes welded in will be fine. The roof itself wont need more bracing if you cut it....you will still have your b-pillars.

From left to right it will. If not the center section of the roof will sag more than likely. If you add nothing would you feel safe in the car?

Do you feel safe in a vert? Why doesnt every vert have a cage?

Even if the vert's have stronger A-pillars....i highly doubt they are that much stronger since they are contained in the same body part.

What proof do you have to say the roof will sag? Everyone is just assuming....but if you look at the kits that were made, the bracing was not that extensive. Maybe a decent idea would be those who have a sunroof....then u can have a slight idea how flimsy the roof is.

ANYHOW, here are some more pics i had on my old comp...

we saw your first post there boss, you don't 3 of the same question.

There are no manufacturers anymore for targa tops. There was only one to begin with actually. If you are very very very fortunate you can still find a kit out there that people are hording but look to spend over a thousand dollars just for the kit.

I never really liked the look of the targa top but I only have internet pictures to go on. Maybe seeing one in real life would be different. Wish there was a T-top conversion kit on the market. I'd be into that.
