Tb for a 95 cobra intake

what type of throttle body should i purchase to go along with a 94/95 cobra intake manifold, it will eventually be ported out, but what size/brand throttle body should i look into?

Edelbrock, BBK, Accufab are all good. Most people say don't go higher than 65mm on an N/A car, but i think its wise to go with the size of the intake opening, which on a cobra intake, is 70mm.

I'd put the tb money towards gears or exhaust since it appears you have neither. But if you were to ever pick up a tb, a 70mm is ideal.

well, im planning on purchasing the intake manifold, if i can ever find a 94/95 cobra one, and some 3.73 (i think) gears, but i've heard that while putting on the intake manifold it's good to go for a bigger TB, and that i'll feel more power. Thanks for the help.

You can pick up 94/95 cobras for $250-$300 in the parts section or on ebay. The opening in the intake is usually 68-70mm. An Explorer intake is also a deal, but you will need an intake elbow. 65mm is ideal for mild engines. Unless you get big port heads and a big cam, 65mm is all you will need. Bigger will lose bottom end power.

Cobra intake is a great step up for anyone with stock heads and cam. I actually have one on ebay right now. My opinion run the stock TB on the Cobra Intake until you get some heads and cam.

EGR? it goes from the header to the upper. do you mean pcv? that goes from he center of the lower to the upper.

no he's talking the EGR in the center of the intake. Used on the FOX body platform. The SN95's lower still had the Hole for the EGR but the Stock upper doesn't. I don't believe the cobra Does either but i've never paid attention.

Am I right when I say that I would benefit more from a 70mm than a 65mm? Don't mean to hijack, just a quick question.

The best thing to do is just to match the intake to the throttle body for smooth airflow. The cobra intake will still be restrictive enough so that you won't lose any low end power.

I don't think anyone mentioned it, but you can also get an intake elbow to adapt to the 93 cobra intake, although the flow will not be as good as converting to a Fox TB.

That's correct. Get the gears your looking for in your sig. Get the TB when you upgrade heads and cam.

i think so, u seen the sticky at the top with the CFM flow for intakes? makes no sense to have a nice flowing tb and right behind it a more restrictive intake

for the person that wanted to know. the Cobra Upper is solid no hole for the internal EGR. So It stops at the top of the lower.
