im in the middle of swapping my disc brake axle right now and am trying to make the stock hardlines for the drums reach the new caliper softlines. do I need to bend the brake line "hard line" to make it come back and go into the hardline port?or do I dismound the bracket and then coneect them? right now with the hardlines mounted, the go past were the softlines conneft, or are mounted to the t bird axle, any help from you guys who have done the swap would be great , thanks, p.s. I have already searched matts web site and he mentiones nothing of this except theat i need the adapters, which I have

Probally because I did it way before Matt had a site so I figured it out on my own... How are you doing it? The Tcoupe rear is the same width as a stang, just the axles and caliper brackets are wider. I ended up cutting the brackets and mounting them on the inside of the housing flanges and using the stock stang axles to keep the track the right width.

hey, I would and still can use the hardlines on the axle from the tbird rear. but everyone kept telling me that i needed conversion adapters to adapt the factory hardlines to the tbird softlines, so I bought them. anyway, matts site says I need them, but I guess I could just use the tbird stuff, well hopefully someone on here knows what I am talking about and can help me, and I am using the entire tbird axle so I can have the brakes and the gears.

if you're using the tbird rear complete with it's disc brake setup, then you should also use the hard lines that runs left and right, the length of the rear end, as it will already fit it's own calipers.

the hard to soft conversion line that I believe everyone is talking about, is that one in the center that connects the rear end hard line, to the central line running down the chassis of the car. there is a rubber connecting line connecting the axle brake lines to the chassis brake lines, and I believe napa may sell a line with the different ends thAT YOu need. Does this sound about right? This should be the only fitment issue line wise.

yeah. thats makes since, but i still am confused about the adapter lines, it says I need two of them? well, I guess I will try the tbird lines... any more into is great and thanks v8 only.

yo8u will likely find all the info you need at the corral. lots of info there, try checking it out

thanks unfortunatley , I accidently tossed the tbird brake lines out at my work the other day when I was cleaning the axle up, and the garbage people took it away, so looks like im going to have to try and bend the stock hardlines, but Ill probally make it work.
