hey guys im about to paint my car and i'm just trying to decide on a technique to actually go about it. Any opinions on what part of the car to start on when spraying in both types of booths? (downdraft and crossdraft) I just want to limit the amount of overspray lines....

btw this is an 86 hatch

thanks so much for any advice!!!

there's not too many people that paint their own cars.. but i'm starting mine in june (when it's warm out).. i'm doing it in my garage.. i'm doing a complete tear down though.. (takeing my doors, fenders, bodykit, hatch off) everything.. i'm starting from the drivers side fender (which will be my frame because their will not be any fenders on it) and working my way down to the rear and wrapping around the car working my way up to the passengerside fender..

just curious what color are you painting it and where are you buying the paint from?

itll be a dark blue, havent decided on exact color yet. I took all the panels off the car so itd be easier to work on them. Only had to a bondo a few places, the rest I used a finishing putty......they told me that bondo doesnt need to be used approx 1/8' or less dents which is the majority of what I have. After bondo I hit it with an epoxy primer (2 coats) then 4 coats of high build. Guide coat, straight edge sand it and refill where necessary to get that sucker flat. Then 2 more coats of high build, 600 to make it all nice and smooth OR put a sealer coat on it before paint...

I'm making my way through it, big pita though haha
