My friend just got a C&L cold air and mass air. There is a little hole on the tube that is for the IAT sensor. He said he didn't have one on his stock air box neither. His car doesnt seem to have one anywhere. So we caped the hole off and it sets off the Check engine. We went to Auto zone and had the codes checked. It says its the temp gauge that we cant find on his car. I dont know what the code was he just told me it was the sensor. Did this year come without a IAT sensor. Please correct me if I'm wrong but it is IAT (Intake Air Temp) right? This MAF came off of a 01 GT. Are the sensors located in a diffent spot than a 02GT? Thanks

I'm not sure what year it started, but Ford moved the IAT sensor into the MAF. Previously, they were seperate. If you look on the maf connector, pin 1 and 9 are for the IAT.

Yea, I'm thinking that it is from 01 to 02 when they changed it, because if you look at the years of the mass air it says like 99-01 and 02-04. I guess there is no way around this except to get the right mass air. Thanks

Actually, you can get an IAT sensor and just tap those 2 wires. That's what I did w/ my blower.

Any autozone. Just get an IAT for an '01 and splice your wires in.

I didn't think the MAF electronics on an 02 would fit into a C&L MAF for an 01...? Besides the difference in electronics, they are physically different.
