Thanks for the reply's and help on my engine and car questions. I decided on how im going to build the engine with your reply's and help.

351c 4v heads
Domed pistons 10.5 to 1 compression
Blue Thunder Intake
Edelbrock 750CFM DP
Hedman Headers 2in primaries
C6 tranny 2500 stall
3.70 in ford 9in
Still not sure on cam, I dont want a solid lifter since I hear you have to adjust the valve train every week or so and I cant affor dan adjustable valve train right now. The hydraulic rollers seem pricey, I'd like to find a nice Hydraulic to use but it seems like no one likes hydraulic cams on 351c 4v. My goal is 375RWHP hopefully this will get me close. I'll be running open headers till I can afford an exhaust but that seems like a pretty good 10HP increase with open headers. I also have a carb spacer and open air cleaner, probally not much HP 1-5 tops but every bit helps. It should smoke the tires a bit and sound mean. IM hoping for a 14sec 1/4mile my cousin bet me with this setup and car i'd never beat 15 or 16sec 1/4mile, im out to prove him wrong then again he doesn't know anything really about older cars or engines especially 351c's. I hear they really take off around 4k RPM

Thanks again,
Jim

I adjusted my valves about once every six months or so in my 351 C with a solid flat tappet.

There is a kit that I think Crane makes that will convert your non adjustable heads to adjustable with no machining.

I have never used a hydraulic cam, but that's just me.
