Alot of threads, posts, comments lately based soley on mustang value. Be it "how much is it worth" or trashing some add that you found on ebay or craigslist. I'm guilty of it because I'm in the market for another. And to be honest with you it seems the desirability factor for fox body's is higher than ever. The economy right now is in a slow down no doubt. (technically not a recession) Gas prices are through the roof and they dont look like they are comming down anytime soon and yet the value of Fox bodied mustangs continues to climb! We've all done NADA, or KBB or Edmunds searches and in no way does the book value correctly dictate the actual value of these cars. Its amazing to me. Som of you are driving cars that are over twenty years old and are worth 4-5 grand more than their original sticker.
These cars are our dad's and uncle's 68 Chevvelle SS or 69 429 fastback! I love it and that realization is what is causing the value for these cars to rise! That is very cool gentlmen. In a day in the age of carbon footprints and 30 mpg hybrids alot of you are proudly cruising American pushrod V8's and seeing 17-26 mpg's respecively and looking dan good doing it!
I know the Terminator is a nasty car and the Shelby GT500
so with that the Fox could easily disapear into mid 70's cobra II abyss and it hasn't and wont, attention does need to be brought to those pos found on ebay and craigslist, by calling out the owner of some of these things we just may influence one stang owner to not follow suite and ultimatley save another mustang from F&F despair.
On this father's day I remind you to embrace your car's and dont underestimate it , 15-20 years from now these cars will be on Barret Jackson and you will be telling your son or grandson how you used to have one.
As a prospective buyer, I apreciate all the posts, good and bad, I love the car's and as a shopper I can tell you 8 years ago a mint 50k mile LX was 4 grand all day long now there is not much out there and it's only going to get worse, that same car is about 8-9 grand now! Good luck fella's
P.S. Someone help me find a minty please!
Soapbox off..
Go Celts!
