To add a lil' fuel to the fire. I was on DS.com and according to the website RPMOUTLET.COM sold me a dealer only with no programming (u7000) instead of the U7146 they were supposed to. So I downloaded the program (.crom file) into the Predator and you see the result. But the stang has been running with whatever was in there before the download and I retard the timing...

who knows...

Great mileage? Are we all to expect, at the most, 93k miles on our motors?

I was thinking that as well... that's pretty pathetic. My friend's LT1 has had like 10 oil changes in its life and hes got 90K+ with no issues

This is not the first time I have seen the wrong predator for the application do this type of damage. I seriously doubt DiabloSport will accept any blame for this and if Caballo was to get any compensation it would be from Rpmoutlet. I have never dealt with them, so I don't know what they will do if anything.

A 5.4 2V will make Torque, but less HP than a similar 4.6L.

WOW that sucks! Man, I know that the wrong timing and/or fuel can cause detonation...but jeeze just an instant kill on an N/A engine????

Must have had a TON of timing in the tune and lettle fuel...thats the best I can do, or MAYBE it wasnt the tuner and was your cars time to go (unlikely, but still possable) . It wasnt your fault at all though man, unless you have been driving around @ redline quite often lol...also, did MAYBE the tune remove the rev limiter and you simply over revved it? I know some people shift when their cars hit the rev limiter, so you never know.

Good luck on your future build man, hate to see that you ran into that problem.

you still should not have detonated that bad N/A.. i am guessing a wrist pin let go.. or just a rod failure due to overstress.

Can you afford a proper build right now, or are you just planning to pull the old one out and look around for another engine?

I can afford whatever I want to do, it's gettin past my "financial planner" that makes the task more difficult then just sayin' I want that and that and that and that...

Problem is I'm traveling and only here until March 2 for sure so regardless of what I can "afford" I've got to be relatively quick about the decision I make. I can do the swap myself, but I'm not just buying parts, I'm also picking up tools, supplies etc...

I'm just lucky my company got me out an apartment and into a house...

Well tonight I disconnected the AC and PS and starter and H-pipe and the harness from the block. I think tomorrow I'll disconnect the MotorMounts and the tranny... we'll see how it goes...
