what would be the cheapest way to make alot of power naturally aspirated on a fuel injected 302

i was thinking this might make good power

thumper ported e7te heads

tfs stage 1 or 2 cam

gt-40 intake

70mm tb & spacer

Define "alot of power" because in my book that is 700rwhp. Everybody is always trying to do things cheap with nothing. You have to pay to play

Really the only way you can get good results without spending alot of money is by buying quality parts (That may be expensive) in used condition. That way you are getting a good part for cheap because its used. You don't buy new cheap parts because like the sang goes "if its cheap, its CHEAP", and expect good results or quality.

Well yeah 2500.00 bucks for the most expensive TFS top end kit. But if you piece it all together and you add up all the parts it isn't exactly "cheap."

AFR 165/185 - Around $1400.00
Intake - 380.00(Cobra)
Head gaskets - 50.00
Push Rods - 120.00
1.6 R.R - 250.00-400.00
Valve Covers - 100.00-200.00 (Optional)
Camshaft - 250.00-300.00(Unless you by a FRPP cam)
Roller timing chain - 40.00
Valve cover gaskets - 20.00
Intake gaskets - 30.00
Head studs/bolts - 39.99

This is just a rough scetch but you get the idea... Now remember this as well.... ALL OF THESE PARTS are shipped individually now... Instead of the KIT you get them in one package and probably free shipping as well. Just something to think about.

An AFR headed 306 will outpower a TFS headed 306 in box stock trim with the same cam. A 306 with AFR 165's a 264 EX. Energy and a Crap intake will damn near make 400 fwhp.

what's the rpm range on a set up like that and where does it make peak power? Is it something that can be DD'd or would that be a track only car?

I had a set of those heads a while back, I never used them but visually they looked to be good quality.

Thanks! The sponsor said he had sold plenty of them with good results. I posted in the thread asking if he could give me some results people have got with them. Thats a smoking deal.

I have a similar combo that you suggested. I wasn't happy with the tfs stage 1 cam, power seem to fall off around 5k rpm. I also wish that I would have just purchased an aftermarket intake. Probably lost around 20hp using the ported stock one. Anyway you should get close to 300 whp with your combo. I made 270 hp and 300 tq with mine. I was happy with the results and now running 100 shot to make it even more fun.
