Spent some time outside last night.
1) got the wideband powered up again. The ground wire wasn't connected. But now, I think the sensor is bad, because the gauge reads "htr" when the car is running and will actually read AFR when it's off.
2) I got the spacer needed to install the crank pulley, but the bolts were too short.
3) I still need to make a real mount for my crank trigger.
Update:
1) checked connection, seems to work fine now. DONE!
2) Spacer, crank pulley, and belt now installed. DONE!
3) Still lingering out there
I'm also concerned about the rule of 3. Steve, Mike, and _______? *shudders*
.I also have a phantom oil leak out of the front of the motor. It's not pouring out, but theres a dollar bill sized puddle after 5 minutes of run time
I may have found it last night. Loose valve cover...I'm sure I don't have to say it, but as frustrating as it is, being able to say that there is an oil leak after 5 minutes of run time is better than saying I can't get it to run.
Now that that is said however,......you gotta deal with it. Why go forward when you got to pull something back apart to find and fix that leak? Especially considering that it's gonna end up being a timing cover gasket/pan gasket/front lip seal?
If you think it's leaking after running at idle, take it for a spin around the block and put some boost into the crankcase to force more out...you'll come back covered, and dripping.
Unless you want to be the third of 3.
( Actually, in retrospect...when considering every bodies misfortune here, in the timeline....you might be #1. ) that makes me #3.

I think the metallic grinding noise is the trigger wheel/crank trigger just a hair too close, haha

Shortly after this video was taken, I rigged up my fan to work off a manual switch. Then, I was going to back it out of the garage for the first time, kind of like the next milestone achieved. It started raining, then the starter was heat soaked and wouldn't start the car. let it cool for a bit, got it started, then the switch for the fan broke. I guess it wasn't meant to be last night.Well there ya go...same thing happened with me last year...swore it was a loose galley plug, or rear main seal, and found a leak at the back of the valve cover.
I still have a leaking rear main seal,...and a leaking front pump seal,..and a leaking tail shaft seal,...but the valve cover is good to go.
