The inside story.

Why not just have TMOSS port a stocker??? I think he had a link to sum1 who did this b4 on his site. As i recall he said it was a major PITA, but hey if u can make them easy for cheap more power to you...:nice: Good work ...

Well the goal here is to have the flow capabilities of a ported GT-40 and the look of a stock intake. You can't port a stock intake to match a ported stock GT-40 and he wants the intake to look stock...

This is why I didnt bother with the stocker:

Well Al, without welding anything, the stock upper & lower intake which flows ~150cfm in stock form will flow 200cfm total once ported and the Cobra/GT40/Explorer which flows 205-210cfm in stock form will flow 250cfm when ported.

I don't recommend getting crazy with cutting and welding any intake as it gets crazy expensive due to the labor hours involved. I've done them for myself on my own time just to see what can be done, but if you need more flow than the 200cfm or 250cfm, then it is much less costly to just move to an aftermarket intake.

I think he would rather have his time and effort into it than just buying something.

I would rather do it myself. There is nothing easy about it, but it is cheap:nice:
I could send it to tmoss but if Im going to do that why not hire a pro driver to take it to the track for me and run the times I want but im not capable of doing for myself?

You have been doing that for years! And I still havent been paid yet!! LOL:hide:

This is great ingenuity and the ultimate sleeper. You do wonderful work and I can't wait to see your end result. I only wish I had the craftsmanship to fab something like this myself. Leroy93lx's intake looks great!

It is out for paint. My parts stash may end up on the old ladys vert. I think i'm going to sell my 89 and build my 86. I currently have 7 cars at my house and somethings got to go. The sell of the 89 should be enough to finish the 86 and do the interior of my rambler. So if anybody is interested in my 89 check out my garage and shoot me a pm.
