As close as OEM as possible. Would that be argent? Did it have a clear coat also?

Go with the color that Mike did on his Explorer intake. That came out killer, hes got it in his thread.

Me too! I miss it up there. All my family is up there, Mountlake Terrace, Beacon Hill, Magnolia. Ive got family all around that area. Id be up there if I could. My brother and I never made it back up there, we stayed here to work when they all moved back to Washington from Albuquerque. My family bounced around between here and there when I was growing up.

I would say argent white/silver is close to oem. Over the years they may have yellowed a bit but if you google 93 Cobra engine bays they look very light silver.

Here's mine. The paint I used on my explorer upper doesn't match

Late as usual and those guys are right. That little chip won't make a difference.

I am however reminded that this little time saver works on intake plenums too:

I bounced around growing up also. This is actually the second time I’ve lived here. I stayed while my parents moved back to CA where I was born. I’ve been up here most my life now, could never live in CA again

Serious question, are we sure the intakes come painted from the factory?
Here's mine. Never been touched, would you guys say it's painted or natural aluminum?

Haven’t heard that one before..

I would think it’s painted just due to the fact that bare cast aluminum would be very dirty or discolored after so long wouldn’t it? Of course I have no idea how many miles you have and I know very little about these years of mustangs. Great looking engine bay! Brady shouldn’t try to catch by the way..

Used that method when I put on an Autolite 4100 on my 289. Had it sitting atop an edelbrock intake which don’t jive so well.

There's definitely a coating on the intake. They aren't bare. In my youth I've stripped few to get them ready to polish. In my pile of parts is my original HO intake with a (poorly) polished upper. I remember stripping the "paint" off it years ago.

Now, is it paint or a powerdercoat? Not sure. It peels off in layers like a paint, but I've read mixed things on what it actually is.

Went out to measure what size throttle body I have, seems it’s a 70mm Accufab. Looking at gaskets for the TB, seems all that’s out there is gaskets for TBs with egr spacers. Is it alright to use those or does someone make a more solid gasket?

Lets see what @a91what used for a tb gasket when he had a cobra intake on franky.
I would guess that one used with the egr spacer would work,

Dropped the intake off at the powder coasters today. Lightest silver color they had was Porsche silver. Looks a tad dark to me, but its a nice color. Will be ready in 2 weeks. Will definitely post pics once I get it.

So I got the throttle body off, left the IAC on and the TPS on it. Assuming I will still have to reset idle when I get the Cobra intake on?

I really hate disconnecting electrical connectors. Broke a tab off of the TPS connector. Is there a tool that is made for this connectors?

Got the EGR valve off and it was mounted to studs, where those originally bolts? If so anyone know the sizes for those bolts?

Ordered new bolts for the upper to lower intake. I don’t think the GT40 tubular bolts will work for the Cobra. The Cobra takes 4 longer bolts and the GT40 takes 2 longer bolts, as well as the shorter bolts.

That’s about as far as I got today, this cold is wearing me down today, along with dealing with a 5 year old with the same cold.

Egr is usually studs. You can use bolts but just means a bit harder to line up when you install

I'm sure the stock upper has studs on the egr valve, I don't know about cobras though, guess I'm not much help, again, still, ok hardly ever.
