The Mickey Tompson ET street radials WOW

I've got a set for my Cougar and IMO, the ET Street Radials are the best Drag Radial you can buy.....bar none! The BFG's wear out too quickly and the Nitto's don't hook worth a ****.

I was running 1.8 60ft times with a set of 27x10.5x15's with 26psi in the tires and an open diff (one wheel peel) in my 4,000lb plus, '96 Mercury Cougar. These tires really bite....or at least the one that was workind did. :D

someone told me discounttiredirect.com has cheap tires. you can try that place. i think they have the nittos there. i have nittos and love'm. hook sweet on the street and last a long time. thats all i need!

I had a set of ET streets that hooked nice but I never got to the track, now i have Nitto 555r's and let me tell you they are no where near as good as the ET street. Mind you they are much better than street tires but i will be getting a set of MT's for the track.

The nittos have a decent compound and they last A LONG time. My buddies lincoln runs those on the street for over 2 yrs and over 30 decent burnouts and they still have enough bite. They do spin alot though, but that's most likely because they are worn out. ET street radials hook so well because they have a very soft compound. the local speed shop says they'll last a season, which is prolly 3000 miles of driving and 4-6 dragstrip visits. for foxes, we had 2 bought and mounted for $320. They hook like crazy, and MT tells you not to do a long burnout. They say they don't need to be heated too much, just enough to clean them. Also, they recommend no dry hops and other stupid stuff

steeda has the best price on 555 dr's. 140. take em into discount tire and they will price match. thats what i did. so far i like the 555 drs better than my bfg kd's i liked the profile of the kds more though

Quad shocks do help. I have mine off. I also have brand new LCA's and UCA's with poly bushings. I still get a little bit of wheel hop, but the arms improved on that greatly!!!!

they are a good tire but i only got about 1000 street miles out of myne before the center "grooves" were at the wear markers. they didnt hook so well at the track for me, the best i could get out of them was a 1.90 ish 60' but i was also making 480 rwhp. seemed like there was a fine line between bogging off the line or spinning through first. I read an article in car craft a while back and a rep. from M/T said that drag radials were more suited for automatics because you dont hit the tires as hard off the line as with a 5-speed where as a full slick is made with to kind of be shocked off the line.

I dont know if you actually ran the BFG's also but I did and it was the complete other way around for me. The ET radials were junk after about 2500 miles with no track time. My BFG's have 3000 miles on them, with atleast 150 rwhp more, two trips to the track and HARD street driving many times and are still at 1/2 tread or so. Did I mention they hook as good as the ET radials I had?
