Thanks. I think they will too. The only reason I'm thinking otherwise is the offset. With the 94-98 rear end they are right out at the edge. Doesn't look bad at all, I just want a wheel with more backspacing. There isn't much in 17's though with a +45mm offset besides Bullits and I already went down that road. There are TONS of +45mm offset wheels in 18's...but tires are so much $$$$$$.

I really hope the engine goes in. Still needs to get the stock manifolds installed, water pump, plugs, oil pan gasket, valve cover gaskets and I want to paint the valve covers either a fresh silver because they are bubbling in a couple spots. Not sure how much time this will all take. I need 24 hours for paint to dry. I am not gonna rattle can them. I want to paint and clear them. Either silver again, or this metallic blue we just bought for a truck my Dad and I are doing too.

I know man. My Dad is gonna let me have them CHEAP, and I already have the 315-35's sold to a friend that wants them. So I'll get a couple bucks back from those. The front and rears are Sumi's. Fronts are 275's. I have tons of tires for 17's too, that's why it would be cost effective to keep those wheels, no matter what brand tires I use, that I have or purchase new.

Thanks man. I've been going in early everyday for 3 weeks. 1 hour each morning goes by soooo fast, but at the end of the week...that's 4 hours that you woudln't have got in otherwise, right?

LOL!!! After 1 month and 1 week I'm about where I was with Hack Job after 6 months!!! I am always in a hurry to do things, it's like a race. The way I look at it is I am ahead of schedule. I guess it doesn't matter if the motor goes in or not this weekend. It will only take about 10 seconds to drop the car on the K-frame/motor/trans and put in 8 bolts, I guess I could do all that in 1 or two mornings before work next week. We'll see.

All I know is that I am motivated to get this done. I was almost scared of Hack Job because everything I did I worried it wasn't gonna work, but in this case, I know it's going to work.

Yeah, the first time around things usually worry me like that. But the next time, you know what to do and already thought of better ways to do it.

I modified the K-frame this morning out of the car. Had to cut those hole bigger in the rear where they bolt under the car. MUCH easier this time than on Hack Job. On Hack Job, I cut the tabs down but didn't touch the holes. I had to do it in the car on Hack Job and what a 2 hour PITA with a hand file. I worked on these for about 20 minutes with a sawzall and my 3" grinding wheels. Done! I even bolted it back in the car again and everything lines up. I just need to add some small washers to those bolts since you gotta take some metal off each side of each opening.

And yes, this K-frame will get power washed, and painted, don't worry.

Single Staged the LCA's too...why not? And they have MOOG 94-04 ball joints.

Thanks. I used air bags in Hack Job, but I didn't hook them up. I have an old black air bag for the drivers side from my old Lightning. It just says Ford on it. It was blown so I glued it back together. It looks absolutely perfect. Can't even tell. For the passenger side I'll do the same thing.

Got my LRS parts. It's a shame you can't see the clutch or the motor mounts when they are in the car.

11" Spec Stage 1 from American Muscle. LRS supplied the Poly 1-1/4" sway bar mounts, poly motor mounts, a new clutch fork pivot ball and the new rocker molding retainers. I got 2 other small ones too not pictured.

Got the valve covers off, oil pan off, got the new exhaust manifolds and gaskets bolted down, painted the oil pan, painted the valve covers, power washed and degreased the motor. I installed the RH motor mount after modification. The side of the mount needed to be ground down about 1/4" for a 1" long section. It would hit the block and not line up with the holes.

First of all, aluminum blocks suck. I heated all 16 oil pan bolts to get them out. Every single one of them wanted to snap. I got them all out without them snapping or taking any threads. I need to replace about 6 of them since the 10mm socket would just round off of them. I used vice grips to get those out. There is NO WAY somebody could have done this if the motor was in a car. Forget it.

Tomorrow the plan is to reinstall everything I took off today and maybe drop the car on it.

Enough talk...PICS

First I degreased the transmission. Engine Brite Foamy FTW!!!!

Engine was greasy and dirty

After a spray down

This was before the spray down, so all this grease is gone. Whoever installed the longtubes left out about 3 out of 8 bolts on each side. They are getting sold, I put the stockers on from my old 96.

The valve covers had to be the filthiest thing ever. Full of grease and grime and all the silver was bubbling. I degreased them like 4 times and sanded them down.

I knew with how greasy they were that paint would never stick and I'd get fisheyes. So....I found some white paint from an old Explorer and I sprayed that until the fish eyes stopped coming back. I sanded between coats.

Then I sprayed this badass metallic blue. It's a GM color from my Dad's project that he's got going right now.

And of course I taped off the hand signed plaque.

2004 Silverado SS. It's a nice truck, just barely hit up front over the bumper. No frame damage. We already have all the new/used parts bolted up there and everything lines up. It's AWD with 4.10 gears from the factory. Has a CAI and it was a Florida truck (Florida title) Can't wait to take it for a ride. Too bad I didn't have my Lightning still so we could run 'em!!!

I only used a drop of his paint to do these covers so he didn't care at all.

I bet that's the same as his truck. It's a BADASS blue. Prolly the best blue I have ever seen. You really have to see it in person to get the 100% pop of the metallic. The pics above show it off well, but I can't wait to see it in the sun.

I got everything back on the motor today and I got the transmission bolted back on. It's ready to have the car dropped on it. Wanted to do it today, but I ran into stuff that took me longer than anticipated, plus I left early than I did yesterday. Forgot my camera too, so I'll a couple pics up tomorrow.
