Well I might as well jump on the bandwagon. The 90 is mine, 86 is the wife's.

1986 GT, auto 105K on the body

The 86 isnt so much of a build as it is a restoration back to acceptable running condition.

She bought the car in 2000, drive it for a couple years and parked it. Sold it in 05 for $1400. At the time it was fairly clean, running fine and some decent 10 holes on it.

Bought it back in summer 06 like this

Summer 06

Motor was blowing smoke, 4 different rims and tires, interior wrecked and tranny leaking fluid. Oh and the exhaust was dangling by a thread.

Car sat for a couple years. Just stated tearing into it again this past weekend. Pulled the old motor and dropped in( well bolted up at least) a motor from my buddies 86 GT. Motor only has 88K on it and ran strong, so I didnt tear it down, just got an oil pan gasket and rear main seal for extra insurance.

February 09

Popped on some pony wheels... center caps are on the way.

1990 GT, 5spd 148K on the body

Bought my car in april of 08, wasnt running (crank no start) oil soaked top end, exhaust was flowmasters with side dumps under the axle and behind the tires. Interior was a wreck and tranny grinds like no tommorow.

April 08

Got the motor running... ECM fusible link popped. Headgaskets were gone, so I resealed the top end and cleaned it up a bit.Catless H pipe and Flowmaster 40's now go OVER the rear end and out the back. Lots of interior repair. Black headliner and such.
Most recent pics of it... not sure when I took these but it was before the new exhaust

Car now has an actual radio bezel and pop out 7" tv.

Silver capri clone is my buddies 86GT which was the donor motor for the wifes car.
Hes got a 331 shortblock buildup going, waiting on heads, and a systemax intake sitting in the closet.

And just bought myself some ponys. BFG drag radials out back. 255 50s in the back and some 245 50s in the front... forget what brand the fronts are.

As of right now, the wifes car is priority as it will be her DD for the summer. Lots of plans for both cars, Ill keep this thread updated the best I can.

That Capri's pretty nice looking.

Nice GT too. I'd take that 5.0 badge off the trunk lid, or if I kept it on, I'd center it like the Ford one on the opposite side...But I think they look better badgeless. That engine shines really nice though., looks good,

I really need to take new pics of my car. 5.0 is off the hatch and back where they belong on the fenders. Ford badge is also on the front grill now too. Ill try to take some pics of my buddies capri clone some time this week.

Well, bringing this back from the dead. Did some more work on the black 86 this past weekend. Motor is all bolted in and most of the top end stuff back on. All thats left is to bolt up the headers, front accesories and some misc vacuume and electrical stuff. I think another full day should get it running again.

Been collecting some parts for my 90 over the past few weeks. Got my block all cleaned up and painted. same with the heads.

Scored these *mint* seats (front and back) from my buddies 86 (silver one)

The silver 86 now has these seats:... and I am jeleous.

And the 331 going in the car

Will update soon with hopefully some pics and vids of the black 86 running

331 is going in the silver 86 eventually. Mine is getting a rebuilt 302 with some bolt ons
(originally from black 86). Black 86 got the stock 302 (originally from the silver 86)....

Its kind of like a mustang soap opera with motors all over the place.

Black 86 is running finally. Still needs alot of work but at least I dont have to push it in and out of the garage anymore. I didnt get a pic of the motor in completed form, but you get the idea.

The silver 86 is in the middle of a dash pull to fix ALOT of hacked wiring by whoever did the dash swap

stay tuned.

Back from the dead. I know its slow progress, but with a 1 yr old and it being slow at work, its the best I can do. Annnnnyway.

The black 86 is now running and driving mint. No more leaks or problems. Buttoned up all the little odds and ends motor wise.

Interior is next in line for repair. Starting with a repainted center console:

Im gathering parts for my 90 GT motor.
Fresh cut crank .20 over with matched bearings and a set of new rings.

Shortblock should be together within the next couple weeks when I have some time.

Got some goodies for my 90 last night. Compucar wet kit and harland sharp 1.6 RR's

The motor will be taking out of a disassembled from the 90 on tuesday to harvest the pistons for the 86 block im building. Stay tuned
