The rear end is in pieces

In a good way:D Due to decent weather today I finally got a start on my traction loc rebuild. I got as far as getting the assembly out and inspecting everything. This was my first time doing any reared work, so i took it slow and i really enjoyed doing it. I never knew what gears I had in the car, but i knew they were not stock. Judging by my rpm's and mph, I thought I had 4.10's but I found out today that I really have 3.55's. I don't know if i am happy or mad:shrug: Either way, its cool.

Just thought I would share

haha, i wonder what the difference is in the quarter.. how modded was your car before you put the 3.73's in it? do you have any before and after quarter mile times? i bet they'd be interesting!

Liked the 3.55s in my old car, very nice street gear, nice kick in the ass, driveble on the freeway, milage won't kill ya- 3.73's in mine as big as you'd wanna go for driving, imo. 4.10? Best in somebody elses car, to take up and down the street a couple times, just to feel it. What if it rains, or snows? You ain't goin nowhere. You pulled hard cuz the rest is done right, 3.55s:nice:

With similar mods as him, and 285 tires, 1st and 2nd is more or less useless with 3.73s unless you pedal it, which is simple enough. New England has crappy roads which hurts traction.

If it works I say leave it. My brothers 86 has 3.55s now and has been 12.17 @ 110. He is doing 4.10s so I will let you know what it runs afterwards.
