I paid $3900 for my 91 back in early 08. Was as stock except for a handful of bolt-ons. Even had the stock 150K mile shocks still on it.

Nope, I would never sell it, but everything has a price. I've been out driving it around and have had people give me business cards and throw numbers at me. I always say no...so far.

Mine is a pile and people do the same thing. If the guys tossing numbers around had cash on hand I might be walking home one day.

Paid 6400 for my bone stock virgin 8 years ago. Don't regret a dime I spent. Still get asked when it was repainted regularly, and it's factory paint.

Where are they finding them for under 5 grand these days? Especially a "well kept stock example" like the article calls for, haha. These days if you're finding them for under $5, Ricky Bobby is gonna be all over it with a paint roller.

Convertible GT and LX cars are getting pricey, but the notchback and hatchback coupes can still be had reasonably if you look hard enough.

Proof that whoever wrote that has no idea what they're talking about. Equally equipped identical cars compared in LX/GT/Coupe, i guarantee you the coupe will pull more money 9 out of 10 times.

The more I read the clip you quoted, the more I think they must be talking V8 vs. 4 cyl, but not up enough on terminology to present it properly. I dunno, that article was probably written by some tool that drives a KIA.

Fairly pointless article as none of them are rapidly increasing in value any time soon, if ever.
