with a full weight 94 5.0 vert, what can i do to crack 13's on street tires? it is an auto with 2.83's now...with u/d pullies, o/r H pipe, mac cat-back, mac cai, subframe connectors, so.. yep, its still a heavy one too... i might be swapping for the t-5 real soon, but i don't know what i should do next. and also i dont want 4.10's... any ideas or proven mods without s/c or a heads or cam...? or am i screwed without like 3 g's more than what im already putting into the trans and new top?

Im not sure as to i have never done what u are trying to do. I guess since you are already going to a t-5...still get like a 3.73. If auto, 4.10 and a stall but u said u dont want that.

Then once u get the tranny, get traction and a good suspension setup. Get a intake...thats an easy and relatively cheap upgrade. Maybe even sell that mid pipe and get some long tubes and a new shorty h pipe.

The biggest thing is practice...especially with a stick. Maybe Paul or another heavy vert guy can help you better.

Good Luck.

I ran 13.8 with the stock heads and cam in my 5 speed, but I don't think the combo I had will be enough for you to get into the 13's with the AODE. First and foremost concentrate on the tranny, either swap it out or beef it up and get a GOOD converter. A converter is definitely your best bang for the buck at this point of you keep the AODE.

I ran 13.8 at 98.55mph with an edelbrock performer intake, 65mm TB, shorty headers, offroad X, 3.73, pulleys, bumped timing, and nittos.

haha im learning. Paul didnt say much more than i did :nice:

Hey paul, is your shortblock ok? I saw in another post about bentvalves and such.

:OT:

No Nate, unfortunately its not. The heads need new exhaust valves, seals, and springs at a minimum. The shortblock "may" be OK, but I'm not taking any chances. I plan to re-ring it and replace the bearings at a minimum... but if at all possible I plan to turn up the wick a little. Actually Nate, I want to talk to you about a few items you are getting rid of. Can you email me at [email protected] so I can talk with you further? Thanks,
Paul

paul, how much time difference did the nittos make... were they the d/r's or just nitto tires? i just have a set of firehawks, which suck in comparison, so is it still possible to hit like 13.99 with luck and the 5 spd? and really good driving...
