Like I said, There aren't too many things to like about the engines. They're heavy, and underpowered, massively wide and somewhat intimidating when it comes to upgrading.
But, speaking of upgrading,... get rid of the stock EFI intake, and replace it w/ a open plenum "carb style"intake, ( even if you intend to keep it injected) and you get this massive dry valley that lets you hide all kinds of jumk under the intake:
Wires; lines; hoses; nitrous; dead bodies, blah-blah-blah.

As for me, I chose to run the heater hoses under it:

Can't do that w/ a 5 OH.

I love the look of the AN fittings coming out of the firewall. Looks super clean.

You can always store some hot dogs in the plenum just incase you ever get hungry during a long drive. There's probably room under there to get the buns nice and toasty too.

are you still running a standard heater core?
Yes, There are compression adapters that let you cut the heater core outlets to the length you want them, then slide the compression nut, ferrel, and AN -10 male fitting together as a unit and crank the thing together for a finished look like you see. About 20.00 ea. I tested the thing out of the car w/ a garden hose and whatever pressure my water system has here. No leaks, so far so good.

You can get your entire arm in the valley at the back of the intake.

I plan to start offering a line of TV dinners that you just pop in the valley, drive around the block, pull into the garage, set the card table w/ some paper plates, plastic ware, and dixie cups, and you got yourself a meal fit for a King!:nice:

madmike1157, I don't know what Ford was thinking when they came out with the 4.6 2V...especially the NPI. They made the car heavy, threw in the huge heavy engine (bigger than some big blocks BTW) with all stroke and no bore, and then choked it off with the 2V top end. I remember reading magazines back in the day about how Mustang GT owners were getting beaten by almost everything out there. One guy in particular wrote that his bone stock GT lost to a chick in a Honda Prelude...OUCH. And if you had a convertible with the auto...forget about it. That's the reason why we have to deal with the 4cyl bandits these days, because of the 215 hp our 3400lbs V8s were making 16 years ago.

But still those were the stepping stones that got us to where we are nowadays. The 11/12 and future Mustangs are like the C4 and C5 Corvettes. They used to compare those Vettes to cars that costed $20K to well over $50K more (Vipers, Lambos, Ferrari, Porsche, anything they could throw at it)...and the Corvette always gave everything a run for it's money in every category, it was always in the middle ground. These days I have been seeing that the 11/12 GT and the Cobras (and the Boss) are being compared in the same fashion. One mag compared a $50K Cobra to 2 other cars where the 2nd cheapest was like $70K and the most expensive of the 3 was just under $100K. And the Boss just beat the Z06 Z07 back in November...it all started with the 96GT and 96 Cobra...

Termi swap
Not anytime soon. Undecided on whether or not I'd just go ahead and convert it to some old 60's BB ( read...whatever I could get my hands on). 428CJ; 427 (any riser), or keep it current and put in some 4v version of a 4.6, or the new 5.0.

Waaay off in the future though. ( at least a month):rlaugh:

Haha, nice. What is the new setup?

Same engine, I finally put the Patriot Perf stage 2 heads/stage 1 cams on, the rear was rebuilt using 3.73's (had muddy 3.55's in stock). Cobra Brakes, 5 lug conversion, Trunk mounted A/C , Sequential LED tail lights, and Pretty new wheels. ALL in the last two months. OH yeah,..I painted that engine red, and did the same for the compartment.

You should see all the space underneath the new Boss 5.0 intakes. You could hide a watermelon under there.

Same here. W/ this intake being "above deck", I bet you could get a honker under there.

Yep... someone has to run through the street with the burning banner of truth. :rlaugh: Regardless if it's suitable or not.

Hey, I own one of the damn things. I guess it's kinda like guys who are balding: There are those that accept the truth for what it is, and just get their hair cut to suit the loss, and then there's Donald Trump.
