There's a lot of heat...

coming from the engine. The temp guage always stays on the R of NORMAL, but there is a crapload of heat coming from the engine compartment. On a 90 degree day with the air conditioning broken, the footwells are like ovens and my backside gets melted to the black leather seats. Is this normal for a high performance engine (uncoated headers), or is there something amiss?

i can barely touch the intake even an hour after the car has been cooling off.

Yeah, uncoated headers give off a crap load of heat. When I step out of the car after a run, I can feel a ton of heat coming out from under the car, around the engine bay. My friends always ask me if somethings wrong with the car because of this, but it seems normal to me now. Mine never gets past the "R" on "NORMAL" either but like 94gts mentioned, I still can't touch anything under the hood even after it sitting for over an hour. My footwells also get quite hot, when I drive with the top down I sometimes put the A/C on just so I can cool my feet down.

mine gets really hot too. the transmission tunnel and everything.

My car is completley stock still... and I noticed this too..
the engine bay seems to stay hot for hours after driving...

Does anyone know how much Jet-Hot coating will lower the temps under the hoad. I'm probably going to do it for the comestic appearance, but if it makes a difference it will help me justify the $280+ cost.

how about wrapping your headers with that insulating wrap stuff? i wonder how much (if at all) that would help
