I haven't even touched it since last Friday. I've been so frustrated with it. I got the timing set, although I'll have to redo it Wednesday when I put my new balancer on. I still haven't messed with the idle, I was busy all weekend. But I think I'm gonna drive it tomorrow. It still doesn't run quite as smooth as I think it should, but my damn MAF I think is the problem. The C&L uses the stock electronics (i.e. crap) and my stock piece had gone out a while back, but I had no choice but to use it. Oh well, I guess I'll take her out and see what she does. Oh yea, and I finally burped the coolant system last friday too. So she shouldn't get too hot again. She got up to 215 last time I drove her cus she had air pockets in the coolant.

Sounds good Chris. I see we are thinking our old balancer was slipped eh? (otherwise, no need to adjust timing).

Even on a fox, that swap would cause an 'adjustment' period.

Enjoy! (and dont scare too many small animals while at stop lights).

Yea I noticed when I pulled the balancer last weekend the isolator or whatever it's called had started to come out. So I decided just to be on the safe side and replace it. But I can only take so much of working on my car lately, so I haven't really touched it. I'm gonna try and find a good replacement MAF sensor locally so I can swap that out and see if it runs better.

Adjustment period, as in when I get it on the road I'll need to give it like 500 miles before shredding down the track?

I'm more going for scaring the children, lol.

Chris

Since you got a stick trans, you might try raising the idle up a bit to help until you sort things out.

Don't feel so bad. You're not the only one. My car owned me. I was putting in a set of pillar pod gauges and cracked my windshield. At least insurance will pay for it.
