Safe? Yeah, pretty much. I wouldn't do it though.
Then you have a car that can be fast, not a fast car.
My car's really fast when i go downhill too.

now comes the hate

well id love to do a supercharger so its is a fast car not a car that can be fast but its also a DD so a supercharger isnt exactly the best way to go for me, so i was thinkin a nice shot for the track would be fun

i think a 100shot with a proper tune is safe.
jus make sure you get a window switch in case you miss shift....cause if you....BOOOM!!!

If I were going to do nitrous I would do this setup from NOS.

Nitrous Oxide Systems (NOS) 08100NOS - NOS 4.6 Mustang NOSzle Direct Port EFI Nitrous Oxide Systems - summitracing.com

Its a direct injection kit that comes with everything needed to go. From what ive heard it's a fairly nice setup but a little pricey.

If not a would just go with a standard ZEX Wet nitrous kit. about $600 or so from summit. With this you will still need other things such as a bottle heater, Remote open valve and a couple of other things. I would say another. $300-400. Im sure you could get it cheaper some where else, but these are prices that im seeing on new products.

Also Dyno Tune will probably run you about $300-$500 or so.

yes. do it. some people will argue that you MUST have a tune for a 125 shot, but I dissagree. I ran a 125 shot through mine for almost 2 years on the factory tune with zero issues..you have to do it right, make sure the car is running properly, you have the right plugs, clean fuel filter, 93 octane and you'll be fine..

a would get a window switch for it regardless of anything else, will keep you from spraying too low or too high in the revs...too low and the n20 can pool in the intake and backfire and if you hit the rev limiter the comp cuts fuel delivery meaning no fuel and all n20= engine go boom.

a bottle heater is required, but is a nice add on if you have the extra cash to spend on it, will keep the pressure in the bottle up for max power and n20 delivery. a remote bottle opened certainly isnt REQUIRED, thats just a convenience tool that I wouldnt waste $200 on.

Without fuel, there would be no backfire or engine damage. The problem is, the computer cuts fuel by turning off the fuel injectors, but the fuel solenoid of your nitrous kits keeps spraying fuel. The fuel mixed with the nitrous is what causes the engine damage. Nitrous alone is an oxidizer and can do nothing unless you have a material to burn.

I completely agree, get a window switch. Set it so you aren't spraying when the motor is bogged down and cut it off before the rev limiter.

A port injection kit would be nice, but not necessary at all with a small 125 shot. It is more useful when you want to spray more than 150hp.

If your engine is in good tune, I see no reason not to spray a 125 shot without getting tuned. Just make sure you aren't using a chip or timing adjuster to add timing, and that you are running premium fuel.

Nitrous adds big torque. If you really intend to run it mostly at the track, you will want something stickier than a standard all season tire. Drag radials will keep you safe and help the car hook up hard.

I have a 45 shot on my 2.3 right now. I gained .7 seconds and 4mph on the spray. A bigger shot will be going on next season. It works and adds lots of torque. Make use of the torque with sticky tires.

Dynotune kit is the best bang for your buck. I have run it on 2 of my cars and it is a quality kit. You can run a 100 shot safely with no extra tuning, I never tuned and was fine.

sorry i guess thats not in my sig but i have drag radials for the track that i use

also i def want to have a window switch too

so i do have a diable tune on my car right now so would that have to go? its not a custom tune just there "performance tune"

also u are really able to run a 100 shot with absolutly no tune change over stock tune?

also do i need a purge valve or WOT switch? if not how do u purge lines and all?

Yes, the tune would have to be changed back to stock unless you want to run race gas. The tune adds timing, which requires more octane, and the nitrous requires more octane because it burns faster. If you are running 91-93 premium pump gas, you won't have enough octane to prevent detonation and could cause engine damage. The simple answer is to remove the diablo tune and run premium on the stock tune when you plan to spray.

I would definately run a WOT switch. That combined with a Window switch will be very safe.

I never worried about purging the line. The effect is only a few hundreths of a second in ET, and only on the first time you spray after openning the bottle.

When you see the professional racers making a big long purge... it's probably because they purposely warm the bottle to have excessive pressure, then purge until the pressure is exactly where they want it. In this case, the nitrous stays warm and helps to maintain bottle pressure over the run, compared to a bottle at the standard temperature which will allow bottle pressure (and performance) to dip during the run.

So in short, don't worry about a purge. It would be much more useful to have a bottle heater.

I don't have a bottle heater and don't worry about it. If I plan on spraying, I just put the bottle in warm water to warm it. That warms the liquid and the gas on top. If it's cold outside, I'll wrap the bottle in a coat when I put it in the car. Works just fine for the trips to the track.

well its still like 70 degrees out here, and in the summers its like 115 so when is a bottle heater really needed to the point where it will really help? if i kept the bottle in room temp in house is that good enough for the track or does it need to actually be higher than room temp lets say 75-80 is standard room temp here

i say do it man. window switch isnt necessary. if you spray with a push button you dont have to worry just let off of it inbetween shifts. and even a 100 shot wont need a tune. just run the stock mustang tune from ford and you will be fine on wet kit. get a bottle heater to keep the bottle pressure at a good level.

thats all i had running a 150 shot of nx and then a 200 a few times. i pulled timing though and it ran great.

also get 2 step colder plugs and gap to .035 and yo will be good too go.

good luck nitrous is tons of fun.

Go with the juice - install it all yourself and take it to a reputable shop for tuning.
PS - if you're in Arizona you don't need to purchase a bottle heater. I'm in Florida and I actually need a bottle COOLER. When I go out racing I keep a small cooler on the floor behind my seat and a towel inside with the ice/water mix. Let that towel sit on your tank for a little while (as it TOO much heat can create TOO MUCH pressure and get you out of that 950-1100 PSI sweet spot range. Also - no need for the remote bottle opener unless you plan on racing in an illegal manner : street racing

you'll want a WOT switch instead of push button, much less hassle and no way to spray it "accidentally" when you arent full throttle...

Get a wot switch, and a push button. And get a window switch; hit the rev limiter once and you're out a lot more than the cost of the switch.

Also, see if you can find a used remote bottle opener. Makes nitrous more fun, and more practical to use.

The first time I flipped the switch I couldn't believe it; amazing feeling.

oh and i would suggest getting the NX plate kit. its a very good system and easy to install. no drilling or anything. just slip the plate under the throttle body hook up the lines and wire it and your done. its simple.

What happens if you run a larger fuel than nitrous jet?

As in you run a fuel jet for a 125 or 150 shot on a 100 shot nitrous pill. That would seem like you are garanteed safe, if not rich there.
