What year is the car? Is it already running a carb or is it EFI and you want to convert to carb?

Why not just fix the issues? Converting to Carb won't ruin the value to everyone, but I know I'd never even make an offer on it. The Holley EFI is a great system, but might not be necessary...

How about a list of all the components on the car, mods, miles/age/condition, and the list of symptoms and we might be able to help you find a solution that doesn't cost money and ruin the value of your car?

I,m going to air condition the car , the bbk intake is so big it would have to be removed to get to the heater lines, right now I have a valve cover leak on the passengers side have to take the tb off to get the cover off just takes up too much room , I like the holley efi size

I would pickup a regular EFI intake like a Trick Flow, Cobra, or Explorer and swap it in place of the BBK.

Swap the intake to a traditional style intake first.

Are you talking about the BBK SSI upper and lower? What issues are you having? What does the 331 consist of parts wise? What does the fuel system consist of parts wise (stock and aftermarket)? What is the induction system consist of (filter to throttle body)? Which ECU and is it tuned (if so how - chip, quarter horse , etc.)?

Also, have you looked into what is necessary to go to a carb setup just fuel system wise? This isn’t typically a cheap swap with the fuels system, carburetor, intake, distributor, and ignition system (if you don’t already have a box) just to mention the big ticket items. Once you get that sorted out then are you concerned with the air cleaner hitting the hood? Intake height, carburetor height, and air cleaner height all work into this.

Lastly, if it’s an automatic trans car you have to account for the kick down linkage.

A complete list of all engine and electrical mods, please.

Also miles and pics of the engine bay.

Also: What OBD codes are you getting?

Good news guys, I'm not big on parts changing but I took a shot at a IAC fixed my problem. car runs great!!! I'll look foward to your advice as I progress with this build! I'm not impressed with the real estate the BBK take up but it runs pretty good with this 331 motor so I will put up with it!

Now that I have the car running right , I have a question the battery is remoted to the trunk, the cable for ground is run to a frame rail under the car I know that EFI likes good grounds should I run a ground cable to the engine?

Yes, but there was a time where I had a ground issue (battery in factory position) and I had to upgrade my ground wire to the firewall using some wire from an amp wiring kit. That solved my issue, even with the ground in place.

My FFR cobra I installed a braided copper ground to the firewall but the 4 inch tube frame was a great ground, so I think i"m going to run heavy ground to the motor
