Thinking of rollcage do i still need subframes?

From the article posted above, it looks to me that you want a 6 pt roolbar, not a cage.

I understand that there are different styles, but with a 6 point roolbar you do not need to deal with the side bar. That would be very suitable for a car that is driven on the street, and would not need the swing out bar.

The full 8 point cage where every thing is "caged" in unlike the rollbar seem like over kill for 99.9% of the people here. That style is not needed until 9.99. I don't know about you guys, but that is seriously fast. I rarely even see any seriously moddifed drag cars at the track run that fast.

even with that 6 point roll bar you still have to deal with the sidebar if you look again. my main beef is the loss of the back seat. if there's a cage or rollbar that allows you to retain the back seat, be it by a removable back bar or otherwise...i'm cool.

Yes I want the 6pt rollbar, not a full cage. Anyone know if I can keep the back seat? How much for that 6pt shown in the pic? And it does still have the sidebars that come down I would probably rather them swing out but it depends how low they go. I might be willing to not spend the extra money if they went down low enuff so I could just get out easily.

Ive got an 8pt roll bar in my car and the back seat is gone. They tucked the back bars real high up between the seat and the interior quarter panel (My car being a convertible I dont have a package tray to go through!). Those middle beams can be aimed forward a bit coming down off the main hoop and go right through the paint drain holes in the floor right to your subframes. Works perfect, you definetly still need subs. If you didnt have the seatbelts in the back someone could probably squeeze into the back and sit in the middle. But if someone was back there and you got in even a minor rear end collision, that person would be in some serious pain bouncing off chrome moly tube.

yeah see that's my problem. i use the back seat on occaision with people. so the loss of my back seat gets me all riled up. that's the only real prob i have with these things. the swing out door option take away my beef of having to be a monkey and climb over the sidebars...but the back seat issue really ticks me off. :fuss:
