I don't think mentioning the contact points of an aftermarket shifter that he didn't install or buy for you is going to help your case.

Actually, I think GTA was talking about the fork wear pads (the little white nylon dudes) on the shift fork themselves. The problem with that is you have to have the tranny out and apart before you can see them. At that point, he'll have you for the cost of removal and disassembly at the least. I'm glad that I've been able to tackle everything I've had to do to the car so far by myself (or with a friend's help) to save myself from the mechanic headache.

Good luck will_95gt I hope you get it figured out either way.

Yes that is what I was talking about. The shift fork tabs. And I am with you on the tackling things myself or with help. Thats when u really enjoy your car when everything done on it is done by you.
