i mounted only 1 of mine. The other is snug tight on the side of the battery.

The one that is mounted is locked in by the hole by the air filter. i used zip ties to hold it @ the air filter hole. Been there for months and its fine.

The ballasts get hot, but the bulbs run cooler than halogen. I mounted mine on the front of the passenger side shock tower below the intake tube, & the driver side in the little space in front of the battery. I used strong double sided tape, but I have the real small & slim ballasts.

Mine had a pretty long wiring, but Im sure all kits are different. Mine was a universal kit, so it did require splicing into the factory wiring, but I can still remove them & go back to stock if I want.
