Had it on my old GT. Great clutch. Pedal effort was nominal, never had any slippage problems. I was using a Steeda cable, quad, and adjuster. On this one, I have no clue what clutch is in it, but I have a King Cobra waiting in the wings for this one to go. Its a great street clutch.

I ask because this is for my wifes DD notch

The pedal is super stiff and I was very disapointed, my turbo car has a Spec stg 3 6 puck ceramic/kevlar clutch and the pedal is lighter. I hear this is very common for the KCs as the pressure plate is the culprit...atleast thats the general word on corral

I added this when I did the clutch

Brand new Ford Cable
UPR Quad
UPR Firewall adj

I don't think that my KC is very hard to push. But if it is a stock 5.0L then go with a stock clutch that maybe easier to push. The biggest change in my clutch feel was when i changed the clutch quadrent getting rid of that nasty spring ford had on the clutch pedal. The pedal feels much better now. But i notice you already did that. Perhaps get rid of the firewall adjuster and run an adjustable clutch cable. They have a very light spring.

Adj clutch cables are junk, Ford cables are the best you can get.

I have been thru atleast 3 adj cables over the years in my other 5.0 (the fun one)

It sounds like we have the same combo. My pedal is almost as light as stock, hasn't changed much since I got it about 2yrs and a couple dozen 5k launches ago.

It depends on the which king cobra you bought. Ford makes one that is a reduced pedal effort and one that is not. I have one that is not and it is alot harder then stock.

The King Cobra clutch has a stock feel to it. Very Light!!

The FRPP Heavy Duty clutch has a lot more pedal effort then the KC.

You are correct about the Factory Cable being the best out there.

I know some don't agree but I have had great luck with reducing pedal effort by greasing the cable from both sides and sliding it back and forth with bearing grease.

Make sure you line up the cable going through the firewall correctly and that the quadrant is shimmed properly. You need to have some washers behind the quadrant for it to keep the cable lined up with the FWA correctly.

I've got the King Cobra and the pedal is a little stiffer than i'd like in town and traffic. Just normal rowing through the gears its alright but when you have to sit a while and hold it to the floor its sure noticable.

The King Cobra clutch takes considerably more effort to push than my current Centerforce Dual Friction Clutch.
