hi all iam try to take the cable out my 88 and put it on my 91 becuse the 91 is streched out and not opening to full throtle i have the throtle cable disconnected from the peddal and the lever and the 2 bolt that bolt it to the firewall are removed but it doesnt want to come out like theres somthing stoping it help me out plz :spot: :bang:

Yeah, theres a slotted disc on the firewall(interior side). It might be hidden by some sound deadener..its about 3" or 4" or so in diameter. Its a pain in the ass to get off....even bigger pain to put back on. Just for the simple fact theres no room. It keeps the cable from pulling through if it breaks at the pedal.

Replied to your pm. You need to give the cable some slack, then pass the actual cable(not the sheath) through the slot. Did you undo the two small bolts(wanna say 5/16) holding the cable to the firewall(engine side)? Those need to be removed...thats part of the cable.
