Well as the title states I got a heck of a wake up call the other morning. I was pulling away from a stop light in my 1989 mustang 5.0
when as soon as I shifted into second gear the throttle stuck at wot. It was fun trying not to hit the car in front of me, slam on the brakes and try to shut the motor off all at once.
I searched the forums already and it seems that everyone of the previous threads is saying to check the floor mat or TB butterflies. These I have already checked and are fine.
I know what the problem is I just do not know why it is happening or how to fix it because I cant find a good picture of how the linkage is supposed to look like. After I pulled over and popped the hood, the brown piece that the throttle cable and cruise control cable attach to was hung up on the coolant tube(?) that runs along the intake. When I move the throttle lever I can see how that there seems to be to much play in this piece and it sags down and catches the tube.
This may not even be the right piece for the car, the first two years of ownership of this vehicle has been spent undoing all the hackery that the previous owners seemed to have a fascination with.
Any help or photos would be greatly appreciated, the car is an 89 mustang 5.0 with a manual trans and the TB is a BBK.
Thanks guys and girls
