Its a 91 5.0 with exhaust and bolt on's. I have a set of GT40p heads that will be going on this engine. (Trick Flow heads on the 331 combo in the future) I am installing a trick flow stage 1 cam and am either going to go with a typhoon or a track heat intake. Which size TB would be best 65mm or 70mm? Its an AOD car with a 3000 stall.

I would go with a 70mm since most intakes have a 70mm opening and with you combo its right size.I would think about a edelbrock rpm intake along with there throttlebody.I have them and they made a huge improvement with stock heads with gt40's it should be even better. All of the parts should be from the same place to.When parts come from different manufactures it always seems like a after thought and not planned out to have mis matched pieces.

OK so a 70mm TB seems to be the way to go. Now you said go with the performer rpm but isn't that the same as the typhoon? I drive this car everyday and i'm just looking for the best combo. Plus i already have a nitrous kit for it but i'm waiting for the heads, intake, TB and cam before i spray it.

Go with the 65mm TB...it is much better suited for your application...it is good up to 400hp...and the throttle response will be better than that 70mm (better for the 331 with TFS heads)...

Also go with the regular Performer intake...I am going with AFR 165 heads and a custom cam and Ed Curtis himself told me to go with the Performer (idle-5500rpm)...

The Performer RPM is to big even for my AFR combo according to Ed...so go with the Performer with those GT40 heads...Performer RPM if your going with the 331 and TFS heads...

I have GT40 Heads, TFS Stage 1 cam, Typhoon intake, 70 MM throttle body, 70 MM mass air, long tube headers, etc, and it's a strong combo. The Typhoon is setup for 70mm, and mine was fairly round, believe it or not.

depends. The cheap ass 70mm t-bodies like the professional products adn edelbrock have the throttle plate sandwiched between a very thick shaft, and flow only roughly as well as a 65mm motorsport or 65mm accufab.

So, 65 mm in the good brands, or 70 ot 75 in the cheap crap.

what the hell are you talking about? Edelbrock makes very good Throttle bodies. Im running a 70 MM on mine and it performs very well. The only junk TB's out there are professional Products.

In terms of the throttle shaft arrangement. They waste about 3 mm at the major diameter, reducing flow a huge amount compared to one with the "thin" throttle shaft. Comapred to accufab, edelbrock is cheap

You wont notice a significant difference between the 2 for what its worth. Some say 65 and others say 70mm. I say for drivability purposes go with the 65mm FMS. Only because the TPS on it is a better quality sensor and the casting is almost flawless. But you will pay for it......

With the stuff that you are gonna be putting in I think you should get a 70mm. You can get the Accufab and there is no doubt that it IS the best but bang for the buck the BBK is nearly as good... probably not even noticeable. The 70mm will give you the room you need to grow in the long run.

Engine Might have to get a Dart block but don't want to and if I do, then 363 instead of 331. Thoughts on what I've already bought so far.......
