My Throw out bearing is making a bad chirping sound when the clutch is out... If i barely rest my foot on the clutch pedal(without pushing it in) the chirping goes away. I went under the car to check the adjustment of the clutch cable and it is all the way tightened, yet there is still quite a bit of slack.

I have a TKO-600 with the Mcleod bellhousing and the BBK quadrant and clutch cable.

I have a BBK Firewall adjuster that is in the garage and hasnt been installed yet. Would installing that allow me to tighten up the cable at all? Maybe a new cable?

Or do I need to replace the TOB?
Its been about 1/2 a year since i did the swap.

well since you already have the firewall adjuster, use this as an excuse to install it and see if it fixes the problem. you can save yourself a lot of time and effort and the $$ the bearing costs if it does. otherwise, you've atleast narrowed it down some and move on to replacing the TOB. regardless though, if the TOB is chirping you might want to put a new one in anyway. again, opportune time to install the firewall adjustor. the chirping might be caused by the bearing spinning on the retainer sleeve instead of in itself. it doing that will groove out your retainer sleeve. my friend's coupe has a little bit of a chirping sound coming from his throwout bearing because it's spinning on the retainer sleeve.

I would just replace the TOB....that's the only way to make it quit chirping. If you adjust your clutch cable in too much, your TOB will always be "engaged" and will wear out even more quickly. TOB's are cheap and easy to replace!

Ok... So I will try the Firewall adjuster and see If i cant make it quiet down... Im gonna be doing a complete engine swap in the near future(351W), and I dont feel like pulling the tranny before then.

Thanks for the input guys.

Another quick question... I remember hearing about an extended clutch fork for use with the blowproof bellhousings. Does anyone have experience with these?
