Throw out bearing/clutch adjustment

well since you already have the firewall adjuster, use this as an excuse to install it and see if it fixes the problem. you can save yourself a lot of time and effort and the $$ the bearing costs if it does. otherwise, you've atleast narrowed it down some and move on to replacing the TOB. regardless though, if the TOB is chirping you might want to put a new one in anyway. again, opportune time to install the firewall adjustor. the chirping might be caused by the bearing spinning on the retainer sleeve instead of in itself. it doing that will groove out your retainer sleeve. my friend's coupe has a little bit of a chirping sound coming from his throwout bearing because it's spinning on the retainer sleeve.

I would just replace the TOB....that's the only way to make it quit chirping. If you adjust your clutch cable in too much, your TOB will always be "engaged" and will wear out even more quickly. TOB's are cheap and easy to replace!
