Throw out bearing question

Hello, when my car idles I can hear the TO-bearing making a slight amount of noise. Of course when the clutch is pushed in it goes away. Is that a characteristic of the 99-04 GT's to do this, or should they be 100% quiet. I know this clutch is heavier than my Honda and figured it may be a bit louder. The car has 50k miles and has been driven reasonably. If you rev it to just 1000 RPM it goes away also. Maybe the slower rotations can cause noise??? Help me out! Thanks!!
 
Get some white lithium grease in the spray can. Take the access cover off the drivers side of the transmssion and while the car is running, spray some lithium grease on the TOB.

I don't know of anyone with a stang that hasn't had this problem at one time or another. Just wait till summer, it gets louder!!! You can spray the bearing or just change the thing. Might as well do the whole clutch while you are at it!! I say just deal with it. I did until I had no choice but to upgrade my clutch cause of the extra TORQUE!!!! :nice:
 
Mine started squeeking right after the 36K mile warrenty was up. I tried everything to stop it including lithium grease, adding a spring on the cable, adjusting in every possible way. It looks like the throw out bearing has a lot of play in it. Maybe the bearing is on the high end of the tolerance or something. The arm that the clutch cable is attached to wobbles from left to right. I'm just living with it now since my clutch still has a lot of life in it.

I read that the old timers greased the t/o bearing by boiling it in grease. That way the grease got in all nooks and cranies.
