throwout bearing question

Should the throw out bearing touch the clutch diaphram? If is to loose I get the squaeling sound. To tight it can wear it out right?
Triple hook quadrant- set in middle
Adjustable cable new- pinch cable and twist with finger about 1/4 inch
Fire wall adjuster- left plenty of adjustment
New King Cobra clutch set
New pivot ball-
New clutch fork-
Steel bearing retainer-

The throwout bearing should not touch the diaphram when the cluch is engaged. You should leave a little gap in there.

Adjust the cable so you have 1" to 1.25" of pedal reeplay. I had a little bit of a strange noise and added a touch more freeplay and the sound disappeared.

Thank you. I have been playing with adjustment for the last week. I have added slack but not inch or so. Ill give it a shot.
