Ticking goes away after 5 min.

Hello all I've had my upgrades for a couple of months now,but just started getting a ticking noise that goes away after 5 minutes or so.Sounds like it in one or both valve covers.thinking its the rockers or lifters.I put port n polished heads 3 angle valve job,1.7 crane rockers,upper lower intake,24lb injectors,65 mm tb,76mm mass air.Any help would be greatly appreciated.Haven't drove it since it started making noise.Although when the noise goes away after 5min. its still drivable,no prob.thanks to all merry christmas and happy new year.

probably just a few noisy lifters - you can get some stuff at any parts store (like CD2, or Rislone) that will quiet it, or perhaps some Lucas. Mine does the same thing (but not as loud) until it gets warm... nothing to worry about

I'd have to say its probably old and worn lifters also, but if it were a Ford Modular or a GM product I'd probably say "Piston Slap"

it could be a small leak on the header gaskets that seals up when it gets hot. Check your header bolts.

I've heard that it could the lifters placed in wrong. I know you have to make sure the bleed holes are facing up or you'll get the ticking noise on the initial startup.
