Ticking sound from guage cluster

While driving I notice a ticking noise that seems to be coming from my guage cluster. There is no jumping of the tach or speedo, but I wonder if it needs lubrication. Is it possible to lubricte these on a '92?

It's your speedo cable (99.8%). You can take off the cluster, disconnect the speedo cable, and shoot graphite lubricant down it, but even then it can make noise. Some people replace the whole thing, and even they make noise...

It's pretty loud and annoying. I started to hear it at the end of last year, and now it's loud. Hope the lube will get it to a tollerable level. LOL
