I haven’t had a chance yet to go through the surging idle checklist but that is my next step.
In the meantime I thought I would take off the egr valve and clean it if necessary. First thing I noticed is that there was no gasket. Would that cause a big vacuum leak? The next thing I noticed was that the pintal was really crudded up and rusty. The last thing I noticed was that the rubber diaphragm looks distorted and uneven.
I ended up buying another egr with gaskets off online. I’m hoping this might be another issue to fix and cross off the list.
