Timing chain Question?

I'm putting on a new timing chain but it seems like the chain is running close to the block. Is it suppose to have a spacer??
I used the thrust plate that came with it, which doesn't seem any bigger than the stock one.

I torqued the cam shaft bolt to 34lbs trq Is there a clearance for the chain-block? Maybe I was just rushing but I want to be sure.

Some chains come with warnings that the block might have to be clearanced to run this chain. I fit is not touching and it is just close then I would not worry about it.

It fits fine after looking at it with better light.
