I just had my 4 wheel disc brakes done. my mechanic didnt have time to set the PV and said that it wasnt that hard. I was just looking for some tips on what to look for (when adjusting) and what are some good steps to go by.

Start by turning it all the way in, then 4 turns out. Adjust it by 1 turn, and 1/2 turn for fine adjustments.
All the way out = full line pressure.
Drive the car get up to speed, and slam on the brakes, if the rears lock up too soon or before the front, then you have too much pressure going to the rear brakes, turn the knob in to correct this. If they don't lock up at all, you might have too little pressure, turn the knob out. You want to find the point just before where they lock up Locking the rear brakes is bad. If you change to a different brand/style/size tires you might need to readjust.
actually I think all the way in is max rear line pressure - think of a water spiket on the outside of your house - the PV works directly opposite of that - all the way out the most restriction, all the way in the least.. (there are arrows on it either way just wanted to clarify)
