What are the chances you'll drive on wet roads? I currently run the Nitto DR's on the rear and they are great for street and occasional track use as long as the pavement is dry. Of course they don't last too long though... My next set will be Goodyear GS-D3's all the way around because I drive on the street 99% of the time.

DRs cannot be used in rain or snow. If you do you will crash. If you do not believe me go read all the threads on SVTP about people crashing in the rain with DRs.

Well not entirely true KT, but for the most part you’re right. I've been caught in the rain with my Nitto DR's (when still relatively new) and they worked fine because they have more tread than most all the other DR's. Now once I had a few thousand miles on them they were just as worthless in the rain as the MT's, Hoosiers, or any of the other DR's available.

Since I have been on SVTP, only a few months BTW, I have seen 5 threads on how Cobras were wrecked in the rain from running DRs. And I am talking serious wrecks usually at highway speed with total losses.

I'm not disputing that. I'm just stating that not all DR's are made the same. Keep yer panties on man!

I'd like to see a breakdown on what brand and model DR they were running. The Nitto actually has a direction tread on it specifically to channel water out from under the tire.

U.M.

There's a wide variety of DR's out there KT and I'm sure most of them suck ballz in the rain... The Nitto seems to have the best wet weather traction out of all of them though... at least in my experience.

Nitto DR

Now look at the ET Street DR.

I agree when new the Nittos have more tread than most DRs and if I was going to run a DR in the rain (which I wouldn't) I would want Nittos.

Nitto's = last longest, best in rain, mildly better at the track
BFG DR's = medium duration, medium rain, better than nitto's at the track
MT radials = shortest life, horrible in the rain, best dr's at the track

Thats what I've gathered, anywho.
