Tire pressure for nitto DR's?

We're talking about drag racing right?
We're not worrying about tire wear at the strip are we?
A tire that is "cuping" driving around town isn't going to be cuping when you drop the hammer @ 4000rpm.
I'm not trying to start a flame war.
I'm just saying experiment with the tire pressure, I did and for me, I hooked better at 11psi then say 15/16psi. And, I lived to tell about it, LOL.
No, honestly the guy who was coaching me was running way faster trap speeds then my 110 111mph.

Even dropping the hammer at 4000 rpms, there is still a good chance that your tires are cupped due to the low pressure in the tires.

I ran 11-12 psi in 245/50-16 Nitto DRs four years ago and got consistent low to mid 1.7s in a mid to high 12 second car.

Now I run 10-11 psi in my 275/50-15 BFG DRs and get consistent high 1.5s and low 1.6s. They are VERY stable at 115+ mph trap speeds. FAR more stable than a bias ply tire.

If you want them to work, treat them like a slick. Period.

Here's a shot of my car launching on BFG DRs. This is a 1.58 60' launch. These tires REALLY work if you use them right.
