Tire Question...Will a 225 45 18 fit on a 18 x7.5 rims without Curb Rash?

of course every rim is capable of getting curb rash....but I need to know if the rim will stick out slighty? or is there enough tire shoulder to avoid rash? thanx

i dont think so. i believe 235 would be the SMALLEST you would want to go on that, even then you may have a little pit of rim sticking out. personally i would put a 245 tire on that.

why do you want such a small tire?

well...stock tires are 215 60 18

I wanted to go low profile.

I am gonna go with 235 50 18's....to keep it safe


hows the snow in Dundee?

what kind of 18" rims are you using? they arent for a mustang are they? the stock 17" rim is 17x8 and those use a 245 tire, and the stock 16" (at least from the 94-98) was 16x7 and i believe that came stock with a 225. so thats why i made the suggestion i did.

Dundee is no good. i was going to drive down to Normal tonight...got some friends to visit at ISU. and Modern Day Romeo's are playing at a bar down there tomorrow night. Since MDR is primarily a band from this area i thought it was a good excuse to visit some friend and have them see a good band from this area. I'm going to wait till tomorrow morning/afternoon to leave.
