I need to hook up better with radial tires without going to a drag radial. 66 k code coupe 4 speed 350 open rear. Can you recommend a specific brand that would grip well on a 14 x 7 inch wheel? Thank you!

I know it is not what you want to hear, but one wheel peel gets you no where fast. No regular radial will do as much good as two pushing the car.

i like kuhmo's on the street. they stick like glue, and seem to wear well also.

Yokohama AVS ES100. I love these tires on my Integra and will not hesitate to put them on my mustang when the time comes. or if you don't get a lot of heavy rain, the old Falken Azenis tires are pretty damn sticky ... huge tread blocks. they wear quicker, though.

I'm going to have to agree with brian, though. you won't see the full potential of good tires without some kind of LSD/locker and maybe traction bars. the rubber is only good if you can keep it stuck! [of course, I don't know if you already have those things, just assuming].

I run BFG radial TA's because I want long tire life with good looks and performance. You want low life and a sticky compound. Look at the tread wear rating on any tire and get some with a low number which means softer rubber.
