I know this ? as been beating but I searched the archive and could'nt find a good answer. My 95 stang is pretty stock just exhaust and air. I have the stock tires on them with 21000 on the clock. I just cant stick. I have 245/45/17. What can I go in the rear i was thinking 255/50 or 265/50.
Thanks

if you want to go wider, you have go go with a lower aspect ratio(height) like a 265/40 series. otherwise it will mess up gear ratio's speedo and maybe rub. unfortunatly a 265 may be a little wide for a stocker, but maybe someone else has tried an they worked

I am running Kumho Ecsta Supra 712s, 255/45/17 all the way around on 17" X 8". No rubbing (obviously) and they look just right on my wheels. To boot, they stick real good, and they are dirt cheap.

255/45's all around. Had 'em on my old tri-bars. Give's you a bit bigger tire than stock, with no bulging or rubbing. Best choice all around for a 17x8 IMO.

Also works great on 17x9's as well. Very versatile tire size. :nice: They also fill in the wheel well gap a little better.

ive got 245/45/17 nankangs that i got for like 90 a tire mounted.....they are real nice tires for teh price and are good in teh rain as well......on the other hand my buddy has 255/40/17's on his front's and 275/40/17 kuhmos on his rears and they bulge a lil but hook pretty well and look sweet..........just some food for thought...... :nice:
