Tire size for stock ponies

I was going to get some new rims but I can't justify the price anymore. I got a 91 with the stock ponies and am just going to get tires for these. I got 245/45s now and they hang over the bead and I don't like the look. I want to get a little taller profile too. What are some size I should consider? and what is the width on the stock rims?

225/55 . what he said . Hmmm what about 235/55. would they stick out abunch. I belive the stock rim is 7 inches.
