Tires for track

i would go with an OEM 15" rim or a weld prostar rim (not cheapest) and get Mickey Thompson ET Street drag radials. They are pretty much slicks but DOT legal and you can run them in any class. Those are my next track tires.
Here's my friends 10 second Capri running on ET Streets on Cobra rims. Stupid fast car and still holds with the Mickeys.

cheap 15" stockers if you can find them.
OR
Bart racing wheels, as for tires. I was told by 4 tire reps from 2 different companies. manual tranny with a stock style suspension (ie non adjustable) bias ply tires work better ( mt et streets originals DOT stamp, hoosier quicktimes dot stamp) and for an auto car same style suspension a Drag radial tire ( your choice here there are tons)

As a side note I think JayC just switched to a bias ply the hoosier quick time pro's and noted that they weigh less than the DR's he had on the car.
